BROOKLINE – Town Administrator Mel Kleckner is pleased to announce that the Town of Brookline has launched a dedicated town news portal to serve as a clearinghouse for news and updates from the town government.
BrooklineTownNews.com is live now, and is designed as a resource to keep residents and community stakeholders informed about the work of Brookline's town government, including the Town Administrator's office, library, Recreation Department, Health Department, public safety agencies and more.
The news portal is also inclusive of the town's current work related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including news, general information and important links to resources like testing, vaccines and pandemic-related data. BrooklineCOVID19.com, which launched at the onset of the pandemic in 2020, has been retired and redirected to the news portal.
"The launch of this resource signifies the town's continued commitment to keeping the community informed about all of its work, including the COVID-19 pandemic. While the focus of this site has expanded beyond COVID-19, we remain very much focused on the important work of limiting the spread of the virus and keeping residents safe and healthy," Kleckner said. "I am hopeful that our residents and stakeholders will utilize this resource to stay up to date on the work of all of our town departments, which has become even more important as our local media landscape has evolved."
Visitors to the site will have the opportunity to subscribe for updates, receiving an email each time a new item is posted to the portal. Additionally, the site is linked with many of the town's social media platforms, ensuring that relevant news reaches followers as soon as it's shared.
