Temporary Permit Parking

Due to COVID-19, Town Hall is closed to the public. Please submit your temporary permit pre-approval application and all required documentation either 
via email to rguan@brooklinema.gov and payati@brooklinema.gov
via fax at 617-264-6450

All temporary permits that do not require a fee will be processed by mail. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for your permit to be processed and mailed back to you. 

All temporary permits that require a fee will be picked up by appointment only. Required fee must be paid either by check made out to "Town of Brookline" or exact cash. The rime of your appointment to pick up your permit will be communicated to you via email or phone by Richard Guan or Priscilla Ayati. 

Permits will not be processed same day, so please plan accordingly and request permits in advance of needing them.

Obtaining a Temporary Parking Permit

Temporary parking permits are issued by the DPW Transportation Division and Police Department Traffic Division. In general, if you need a temporary parking permit for only 1-2 days, you should call the Police Department at 617-730-2230. Parking permits needed for more than 2 days, are issued by the DPW Transportation Division. For more information on those permits contact 617-730-2177.


Temporary permits may be applied for in person from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Monday - Thursday and from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Fridays at:

You may submit the application and all required documents to the above address by mail. Temporary Permits applied for by mail will be processed within 15 business days of the date when all necessary documents are submitted.
