Parks Construction & Renovation Projects
This page provides information on some current park projects or recently completed projects, including renovations and restorations, as well as new development. Many projects include an opportunity for public input and comment at public design review meetings, which will be listed on the Town’s meeting calendar. Children's Reading Garden - Public Library of Brookline
Construct “Reading Garden” including 6-ft temporary construction fence to protect work area; site preparation and removal of existing grass and soil to create new profile for: concrete unit pavers, poured in place concrete edging for bench pads, poured in place concrete walkway; air spading of existing Tulip Tree roots to prepare concrete unit paver base; protection of existing lawn area as necessary to protect tree roots; miscellaneous relocation of directly adjacent shrubs in planting bed; relocate existing sculpture piece on new concrete base; construct unit paver patio, concrete band for bench mounting, concrete walkway; loam and seed to transition new work back to existing; and other work as noted on the drawings required to complete the overall project as detailed in the drawings titled: The Public Library of Brookline-Children's Reading Room Garden, dated April 13, 2021.
