7. PUBLIC COMMENT

 

Public Comment period for citizens who requested to speak to the Board regarding Town issues not on the Calendar.

Up to fifteen minutes for public comment on matters not appearing on this Calendar shall be scheduled each meeting.  Persons wishing to speak may sign up in advance beginning on the Friday preceding the meeting or may sign up in person at the meeting. Speakers will be taken up in the order they sign up.  Advance registration is available by calling the Selectmen’s office at 617-730-2211 or by e-mail at sorsini@brooklinema.gov. 8. MISCELLANEOUS

 

Approval of miscellaneous items, licenses, vouchers, and contracts.

 

A. Question of approving the minutes of August 8, 2017.

 

B. Question of honoring PFC John T. Mulhane for his Service to his Country with a Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, September 18, 2017.

 

C. Question of authorizing the Chairman to execute a letter to the State Legislature’s Joint Committee on Transportation, Utilities, and Energy to support increasing the Renewable Portfolio Standard to 3% annually.

 

D. Question of authorizing the Chairman to execute the following in connection with the grant funding received through the Massachusetts Historical Commission’s Survey and Planning Grant program for a multi-phase survey update of cultural and architectural resources in the Greater Aspinwall Hill area of Brookline:

 

  1. The contract between the Town and the Massachusetts Historical Commission.

 

  1. The contract between the Town and the selected consultant to conduct the first phase of the multi-phase survey.

 

E. Question of approving the following three (3) contract Amendments:

 

  1. Amendment No. 2, an increase in the amount of $29,755.00, to the contract with Russo Barr Associates, Inc. in connection with the Building Envelope Repair and Roof Replacement Program project (Unified Arts Building Façade).

  1. Amendment No. 2, an increase in the amount of $55,450.00, to the contract with CBI Consulting, Inc. in connection with the Unified Arts Building and Lynch Recreation Center Elevator Modifications project.

  1. Amendment No. 7, an increase in the amount of $5,200.00, to the contract with Desman Design Management in connection with the Water Department Garage Repairs project.


F. Question of awarding and executing an Owner Project Manager (OPM) Services contract with Hill International, Inc. in the amount of $239,994.00 in connection with the Brookline High School Expansion project.

 

G. Question of awarding and executing a schematic design services contract with William Rawn Associates, Architects, Inc. in the amount of $1,500,000.00 in connection with the Brookline High School Expansion project.

 

H. Question of approving the following two (2) Change Orders to the contract with Shawmut Design and Construction in connection with the Renovations and Additions to the Edward Devotion School:

 

  1. Change Order No. 12, an increase in the amount of $101,624.00.

 

  1. Change Order No. 13, a decrease in the amount of $407,501.00.

I. Question of approving Amendment No. 21, an increase in the amount of $13,750.00, to the contract with HMFH Architects, Inc. in connection with the Renovations and Additions to the Edward Devotion School.

 

J. Question of approving and executing an agreement for the purchase of a Pumper Truck in the amount of $622,139.60 with Bulldog Fire Apparatus, Inc. under the HGAC Buy Cooperative Purchasing Program.  

 

K. Question of accepting a gift from Chestnut Hill Realty for an amount up to $10,000.00 for support in the creation of the zoning bylaw necessary to implement the Hancock Village MOA.

 

L. Question of adopting a Proclamation acknowledging October 21-22, 2017 marking the 200th Anniversary of the Birth of Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’í Faith.

 

M. Question of granting a Permit to Serve Alcoholic Beverages (Non-Sales, Wine & Beer Only) to Larz Anderson Auto Museum for a Wedding Reception to be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 4:00pm-11:00pm at 15 Newton Street.

 

N. Question of granting a Permit to Serve Alcoholic Beverages (Non-Sales, All Types) to Larz Anderson Auto Museum for a Post-Wedding Tented Reception to be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 5:30pm-11:00pm at 15 Newton Street.

 

O. Question of granting four (4) Temporary Wine and Malt Alcoholic Beverages Sales Licenses to the Olive Connection for a 4-session Wine Class to be held at 1426 Beacon Street on the following dates from 6:30pm-8:30pm:
